Army Veteran honored with Rotary Veteran Plaque

With Bill's son, daughter, and Hospice Care team present, our Coeur d’Alene Rotary Veteran
Volunteer, Bob Smee, presents a plaque while giving a hero's salute for service.

Bill, who is 96 years old, started as a Merchant Marine during WWII, delivering supplies and cargo
by ship to foreign countries. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served at the 38th Parallel,
which formed the border between North and South Korea during the Korean War.

Absorbed in the moment, Bill said, "Thank you so much for doing this. This is very nice!"

"Our Nation honors her sons and daughters who answered the call to defend a country they never
knew and a people they never met." - Korean War Memorial

Honoring the call.  You make us proud too, Bob!
